Celebrity chef Guy Fieri traveled the country with his show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” stopping several times in North Texas along the way.

The Food Network show, or as Fieri calls it — “Triple D” — has been on television since 2006. On the show, Fieri visits restaurants and talks with the chefs and owners, while also tasting items on the menu.

In total, 20 North Texas restaurants were featured in the show. “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” is available to watch on Max or Food Network.

Here are the Dallas-Fort Worth area restaurants featured in the show:

Unique Texas Café

  • City: Fort Worth

Triple D has only made one stop in Fort Worth, and that was at Fred’s Texas Cafe more than a decade ago.

Fieri sampled the green chili lamb stew and the ribeye steak with chipotle brown butter. The episode also featured actor Martin Sheen eating at the restaurant, who later starred in the film “12 Mighty Orphans,” which was filmed in Fort Worth.

Fred’s Texas Cafe has moved from the old address where the show was filmed at 915 Curie St. Now, the restaurant has two locations at 7101 Camp Bowie West and 2730 Western Center.

The restaurant at Camp Bowie is open from 11am to 10pm Monday to Sunday, and at the Western Center from 11am to 10pm Monday to Thursday and 11am to 11pm Friday to Saturday.

Chef Point Cafe

Fieri stopped at the Chef Point Cafe, which was turned into a gas station, in 2009.

During his visit, Fieri tried the duck with orange, pork chop stuffed with lobster and bread pudding. The restaurant moved from its gas station location earlier this year and is now open in Colleyville.

Jamaica Gates Caribbean Cuisine

“Triple D” arrived in Arlington at Caribbean restaurant Jamaica Jets in 2009. There, Fieri tried curried goat, goat stew and brown braised fish.

Lebanese Prince Grill

Fieri stopped at Prince Spanish Grill in Arlington in 2009, where he sampled roast beef and a falafel plate.

Prince Egyptian Grill is open 11am-9pm Monday-Sunday at 502 W Randol Mill Rd. The restaurant also has a location at Globe Life Field.

The original Chop House burger

It was a special episode of “Triple D” when Fieri stopped by The Original Chop House Burgers in 2012, where he was joined by NFL Hall of Famer Earl Campbell.

Fieri sampled the titular Chop House burger, the 10 Pepper Burger, and gumbo made with Earl Campbell’s hot links. Campbell personally tasted the gumbo, complimenting the dish and the sausage used in it.

Taste of Europe
