A beloved Meridian restaurant is set to close after 17 years of fantastic operation

After 17 years of serving the Treasure Valley community, Meridian Sizzler is set to close its doors permanently at 9pm on Sunday, September 24th. This decision, attributed to difficult business conditions, including labor costs, supply chain disruptions, and escalating commodity prices, represents the end of an era for the local enterprise.

Operators Buster and Gretchen Minshew expressed their gratitude for the support they have received over the years and emphasized the satisfaction they have derived from operating the restaurant in this community, even during the pandemic. “We have cherished every day of our 17 years of employment,” said Gretchen Mincio.

While the closure may spark feelings of nostalgia among long-time customers, those eager to try the Sizzler can still pop into the restaurant during regular hours until 9pm on Sunday, September 24.

As for other Sizzler locations in Idaho, you can visit any of their other operating locations in Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, and Pocatello. There was one in Nampa as well, but for similar reasons they closed their doors on November 29, 2022.

The closure of Meridian Sizzler underscores the continuing challenges businesses face in the current economic climate. It highlights the Minshews’ commitment to the community and their perseverance in maintaining the restaurant over the years.
