Buzzy Mansfield Center has signed on for 5 new restaurants including Portillo’s

Fort Worth loves a solid brunch, as proven by the endless options at Sunday Funday (and sometimes Saturday) dining destinations. For many, brunch cocktails are as important as the menu itself. Customers are being tempted by mimosas, coffee blends, bellinis, and blood drinks (the latter of which has seen the “make your own” trend, which has thankfully disappeared).

Today’s brunch drinks are more decadent than ever, infused with upscale vodka or tequila, served with a generous garnish of fresh fruit and herbs, and topped with a crunch of champagne for the perfect toast. Here are six delicious brunch spots, all great for entertaining guests in town this holiday season.

Eggtastic Cafe Brunch
Opened in April, this new restaurant in Alliance Town Center has received early praise for its massive menu, ample space, and convivial atmosphere — including a full bar for seating and sipping. Cocktails include a Bloody Mary and a mimosa (watermelon is a fun juice option) as well as a unique avocado margarita made with Don Julio tequila, pineapple and lime and surrounded by a tajine. Eggtastic also roasts its own beans, so don’t miss out on a cup of joe or better yet, order the Abuelitas con Café – coffee spiked with more Don Julio and drizzled with Mexican Abuelita chocolate. They all go perfectly with classic biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches, Benedicts of all kinds, many types of pancakes, French toast, crepes and pancakes (don’t miss the lemon poppy seeds). An added bonus for busy holiday schedules: brunch is served daily until 2:30 p.m.

Wallon Restaurant
Just in time for the holidays, this new restaurant has just launched breakfast and lunch service. Walloon’s, the latest concept from chef Marcus Paslay (Piattello, Clay Pigeon Food & Drink, Provender Hall) that opened in July, begins brunch service on Saturdays and Sundays with classic cocktails. The lavish collection includes Bellini, Mary Mary and Mimosas, in addition to the upscale French 75, Paloma and the already popular Espresso Martini. Pair it with new dishes like smoked salmon eggs Benedict, raspberry-topped French toast, and avocado toast with tomato, salsa verde, and feta. Book your lunch reservations from 10am to 1:45pm through Resy.

Hotbox Club Biscuit
Don’t sleep on this South Main Street biscuit haven for Sunday Funday — Hot Box has one of the most elaborate brunch and brunch cocktail menus in the city. First, there’s the genius breakfast drink Margarita, a drink somewhere between a marg and a mimosa made with tequila, margarita mix, and bubbly orange juice. Other fan favorites include the Boozy Palmer made with sweet tea vodka and lemon juice. Gin Punch made with orange juice, passion fruit juice and tang; and Naughty Cherry Limeade infused with vodka. Hot Box also serves Fort Worth-based Sons of Liberty coffee, which can be found in an Adult Coffee cocktail made with amaretto and Irish cream. The Hot Box is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Goat & Vine Restaurant and Winery
Breakfast and brunch “packages” are popular at this ornate Italian destination in Montgomery Plaza, where patrons can partake in endless apps, mimosas, and brunch cocktails for $85 per person. The deal also comes with a choice of one main course, with options ranging from steak and eggs to crème brûlée French toast. There’s a two-hour time limit to enjoy all the cinnamon rolls, steak and smoked salmon toast one could want, washed down with fresh peach lini, vodka-infused mimosas and a rum-and-prosecco brunch spread. Enjoy the tart and refreshing taste of Rise & Shine, a blend of Espolón tequila, grapefruit juice, sparkling grapefruit soda, lime and a salt rim. Breakfast is served on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 10:00.

Chef Point Restaurant and Bar
No collection of the best brunch cocktails would be complete without a mention of Chef Point’s famous Bloody Mary. Recognized nationally for its amazing status, the towering meal in a cup is garnished with a little bit of everything on the menu: thick-cut bacon, jumbo shrimp, waffle fries stacked with a Nolan Ryan beef slider, and a thick slice of the restaurant’s bread. Fried chicken is better than sex and all the traditional accompaniments. There are also traditional Bloody Marys as well as a range of mimosas that include your choice of champagne. Pair it with French toast bread pudding drizzled with hot cognac sauce. Or with shrimp and grits with the chef’s crawfish sauce. Breakfast and brunch are served at Colleyville Restaurant Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The bearded lady
Breakfast shots, anyone? The South Main Street gastropub (which will soon open a sister concept called The Tropic Lady on Race Street.) takes breakfast and brunch seriously. Get things going with the Blueberry Pancake Shot made with raspberry vodka, butterscotch liqueur and orange juice; Then choose from multiple mules, farm waters, or micheladas. Mimosas can be served by the carafe using unique mixers like lavender lemonade; Or curl up with a pickle-filled Bloody Mary. There’s always a seasonal cocktail too, and this month it’s the Holiday Nightcap with pecan pie whiskey and bourbon cream liqueur. Stay nourished with strawberry cheesecake muffins, a bagel breakfast sandwich, or a vegan burrito made with vegan chorizo and sautéed avocado. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday starting at 11 a.m., and there is a special Black Friday brunch and market on Friday, November 24.
