Carnival Cruise Line will offer a vegan menu in its dining rooms fleetwide by the end of the year.
Created by carnival chefs, each item is prepared without the use of animal products, according to the line, with some items made using meat substitutes.
The menu includes three vegan entrees, including a Hawaiian dish using vegan salmon, mushrooms stuffed with vegan cheese and spinach, and spaghetti carbonara made with vegan bacon.

Appetizers include grilled tofu steak, baked vegetables using vegan cheese, and La Parmigiana-style eggplant with vegan mozzarella.
The dessert menu includes a vegan lemon velvet cake, double Dutch chocolate with buttercream frosting and cappuccino cream.
The Carnival Magic ship, sailing from Norfolk, Virginia, was the first ship to try the menu. Vegetarian options are also now available on Carnival Freedom from Port Canaveral, Florida, and Carnival Horizon from PortMiami. The Carnival Dream will adopt the list next, followed by Carnival Valor, Carnival Radiance, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Panorama and Mardi Gras by the end of September.
By the end of October, the list will include Carnival Celebrations, Carnival Sunrise, Carnival Glory, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Vista, Carnival Breeze, Carnival Sunshine, and Carnival Elation.
The Carnival Legend, Carnival Venezia and Carnival Jubilee will offer a plant-based menu by the end of the year.
