It’s been years since diners woke up at Dallas’ iconic Reunion Tower restaurant in the morning. Starting September 24, 2023, Crown Block Steakhouse in Reunion Tower will re-serve Sunday brunch.

In that space’s previous lives, such as at Wolfgang Puck’s Five Sixty, brunch was a years-long tradition, often popular around holidays like Mother’s Day and Easter. Five Sixty closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Crown Block opened in its place in April 2023.

Diners will get mimosas at the bottom of the escalator during brunch. (At dinner, it’s farm water.) Then you get to the 18th floor. The restaurant at the top of the Reunion Tower no longer rotates, but seating is available all the way around the “ball”.

The Crown Block has sweeping views of Dallas and sushi and desserts are on display in the middle of the dining room. Lunch seems like a reasonable addition in a place with big plays. A build-your-own Bloody Mary bar, mimosa flights, buffet stations and a dessert bar are among some of the brunch additions.

Sunday brunch costs $80 per person for one main course and the option to walk through the dining room and choose oysters, sushi, breakfast meats, grilled sirloin steaks and other meals. The 10 appetizer options include fried chicken and waffles with caviar, masa pie with raspberry jam and maple butter, and Wagyu Benedict.

Husband-and-wife team Elizabeth Blau and Chef Kim Cantinwala, of Las Vegas, created Crown Block. Blau loves elegant desserts, and breakfast at Crown Block will be quite large: cakes, muffins, pancakes, and pudding.

Drinks are not included in the price of $80 per person. The Bloody Mary bar costs $29 per person. There is also a full bar for à la carte drinks such as an espresso martini.

The Crown Block (in the Reunion Tower) is located at 300 Reunion Blvd. E, Dallas. Reservations are available on OpenTable It is recommended for lunch or dinner. Brunch on Sundays only, 10:30-2 p.m. The restaurant is open seven days a week for dinner from 5 to 10 pm
