Popcorn is very good on its own, and a few tablespoons of plain melted butter can make it irresistible. However, the truffle oil elevates the whole experience. When you add truffle oil to popcorn, it gives it a whole new flavor. Truffle oil is made simply by soaking pieces of fresh truffles in the oil for some time and straining the truffles away to leave the flavored oil behind. White truffles are usually more expensive and have a lighter aroma with notes of onion and garlic.
