Galpão Gaucho opens in Seaport Village

SAN DIEGO — Meat just got delicious at a new Brazilian steakhouse in the Embarcadero, which is now welcoming guests for dinner at Seaport Village.
It’s hard Gaucho It has officially opened its seventh US location in America’s hippest city, serving a menu inspired by gaucho culture and the authentic food traditions of the “Brazilian cowboy” – grilled meats and fresh salads.
For a little knowledge, the gaucho has great importance in the culture of southern Brazil. A spokesman for the steakhouse explained that the “Brazilian Cowboy” is a skilled horseman and cattle herder who played a vital role in the development of the agricultural industry in southern Brazil.
The Gaucho way of life and traditions have influenced the cuisine of the Gaucho. The menu is rooted in barbecue techniques and “Southern Brazilian cowboy” flavors, the spokesperson explained.
The restaurant imported special grills from Brazil that allow for slow roasting of the skewers, while maintaining the gaucho style of cooking. But what is really attractive is the unlimited skewers service. You read that right – all you can eat meat.
In a unique and delicious dining experience, the steakhouse staff will serve as a guide to ensure guests understand the style of service. Once seated, the server will demonstrate the use of the colored cups on each table: one side is red and the other side is green.
Guests will turn their ship to the green side when they are ready to be met by the meat chef who will then cut a piece of meat off the skewer. This will continue until guests turn their coaster back to red to pause the skewer service.
Diners can enjoy 17 different cuts of meat, including picanha — the signature sirloin cut of the jalpao gaucho — grilled salmon, shank of lamb, parmesan bacon, bacon-wrapped chicken, and more. So, if you don’t eat a lot of red meat, there are still plenty of delicious options you can eat.
For those who prefer full meals, filet mignon, pork ribs, chicken thighs and other stand-alone options are also available. Aside from its obsessive meat service, the restaurant also has a gourmet salad bar featuring 40 items, as well as other side dishes.
Diners may want to pair their meal with Brazil’s official cocktail – the caipirinha. This drink consists of cachaça, sugar and lemon.
Galpao Gaucho is located at 789 West Harbor Dr., Ste #134 in San Diego.
