Gordon Ramsay’s new frozen meal line has been giving us some hits but most of the dishes left us cold

There’s a fair amount of variety in Ramsay’s frozen foods line, so vegetarians, pescatarians and meat-eaters can get in on the action. Those who don’t eat meat may enjoy the mushroom risotto, a rice-based dish expected to feature mushrooms with a white wine sauce and Parmesan cheese. The only other vegetarian option is the four-cheese pasta, which features mozzarella, fontina, parmesan and provolone, with cornbread crumbs as a topping.

Moving on to the meat options, there’s the classic fish and chips, with beer-battered pollock making up the fish part and thick-cut fries making up the chips part. Poultry options include lemon caper chicken that comes with potatoes and broccoli. Then there’s the classic chicken pot pie, and you’ll just find the typical suspects there: creamy sauce, vegetables, and chicken with a golden pastry crust on top.

Lasagna with Bolognese meat sauce is a somewhat unique take on the classic dish, as ricotta-filled lasagna pieces are shaped into rolls, placed on top of a bed of red meat sauce. This slow-roasted beef tenderloin features brisket in a red wine sauce and is served with roasted potatoes. Finally, there’s the shepherd’s pie, which somewhat surprisingly contains ground beef — so it’s actually a cottage pie, although in both cases, the meat mixture comes topped with mashed potatoes.
