Because I know I did!

This message came to us from the “Harmful Compliance” page on Reddit, and the person who wrote about it said it all happened in an office.

“This story is about one of my mother’s co-workers.

Basically, her office had a popcorn machine. This coworker had a habit of misusing the popcorn machine and making popcorn on a regular basis.

Senior officials put out a memo about the popcorn situation.

He abused his popcorn privileges so often that the office issued a memo stating that the popcorn machine was now reserved for birthdays and holidays only, and it was no longer possible to make popcorn on any normal day.

It’s time to have some fun!

This is where malicious conformity comes in.

This co-worker started sending emails to everyone like this.

“It’s March 31st! Happy National Coloring Day! I made popcorn in the break room!”

“It’s April 2nd! Happy Peanut Butter and Jelly Day! I made popcorn in the break room!”

“It’s April 3rd! Happy Pony Express Day! I made popcorn in the break room!”

All of these emails will contain links to articles proving that these were legitimate vacations.

This man was committed to his cause!

No one fought him over this. This crazy man continued to make popcorn whenever he wanted, as long as he could prove that the day was some kind of holiday. I’m not sure why he never brought a bag of popcorn for himself and always felt the need to use the company’s popcorn maker to make popcorn for everyone.

There are many things I will never know about the Popcorn Man. But when I celebrate National Adopt a Ferret Day, I eat some popcorn to celebrate.

Check out what people have said about it.
