I love testing Ina Garten’s recipes, and I’ve made more than a dozen new recipes this year.
I’ve been a big fan of their breakfast dishes, including scrambled eggs cacio e pepe.
Garten’s Greek orzo salad and outrageous cake were among my favorites as well.
Ina Garten is my favorite celebrity chef, and every year I start learning new dishes from her extensive repertoire.
In 2023, I leafed through her newest cookbook, “Go-To Dinners,” and explored some of her oldest recipes.
Although I loved almost everything I tried — like the weekend pasta and the watermelon cosmo — these are the five dishes I know I’ll be making again and again in 2024.
Ina Garten’s scrambled eggs cacio e pepe became an instant favorite.
I’m a big fan of Garten breakfast recipes And Pasta dishesso I was excited when I discovered that she combined the two within her “having dinner” cooking book.
“Eggs are always my favorite breakfast over dinner because they’re big without being heavy, but I like to garnish them, like adding spicy Italian pecorino cheese and peppers,” Garten wrote in the recipe description. “Just take your time cooking and you will be served the most delicious scrambled eggs ever.”
The recipe calls for just four main ingredients: eggs, whole milk, unsalted butter, and freshly grated Italian pecorino cheese. How easy is it?
Garten’s Scrambled Eggs Cacio e Pepe looks amazing in the pan and tastes delicious with cheese and cream.
As someone who frequently eats scrambled eggs for dinner, this recipe felt like it was made just for me. The extra salt and cheese from the pecorino helped lift the eggs, and the texture was silky and satisfying.
If you’re eating Garten’s scrambled eggs cacio e pepe for breakfast, I recommend pairing them with fruit jam to help cut through the salt and add a little sweetness to your morning.

Garten’s Banana and Sour Cream Pancakes have become a favorite breakfast snack.
“I found Garten’s recipe for sour cream banana muffins.”Family style“cooking book.
“I spent an entire weekend testing pancake recipes, but they all tasted pretty much the same to me: good, but not exciting,” Garten wrote in the description. “Finally, I made it with sour cream, bananas, and vanilla, and served it with bananas and maple syrup, and it was a hit.”
Garten’s husband, Jeffrey — to whom she has been married for 55 years — is also a big fan of these tarts, which include lemon zest, butter, vanilla extract and sugar.
Garten’s Sour Cream Banana Muffins are delightfully sweet and easy to make.
Pancakes aren’t usually my favorite brunch order, but Garten’s recipe really blew me away. The sour cream helped fill the pancakes, which tasted fluffy and buttery. The slight tang added more depth to the overall flavour, and the pancakes were very moist.
Plus, aren’t these golden pancakes adorable? This is sure to impress your family, friends or someone special when you prepare breakfast on the weekend.

I’ll be making Garten’s Blueberry and Ricotta Breakfast Cake for every Mother’s Day.
Garten shared her blueberry-ricotta breakfast cake recipe — which also appears on “Go-To Dinners” — on Instagram in honor of Mother’s Day earlier this year.
“Let Mom sleep in while I bake her a Blueberry Ricotta Breakfast Cake. It’s so easy to make – who doesn’t love cake for breakfast?!!!” Garten wrote in the post.
The recipe contains fresh berries, full-fat ricotta cheese, sour cream, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and powdered sugar.
Garten’s blueberry-ricotta cake is light enough for breakfast and impressive enough for dessert.
My mom gave Garten’s recipe a 10/10, and it’s easy to see why. The golden cake looks really good, and the flavor is so delicious.
Both the ricotta and sour cream add a lot of moisture, and I loved the slight sweetness from the blueberries. It’s a light dessert that everyone will enjoy, especially in the spring and summer.

Garten’s Greek orzo salad was so good that it impressed my Greek father.
My parents have taught me how to prepare a number of delicious Greek dishes (including… Pastitsio And Baklava), so I was excited to show them my Go-To Dinners Greek Orzo Salad recipe.
The dish contains orzo, canned chickpeas, baby arugula, Greek feta cheese, red peppers, red onions, Kalamata olives, capers, dill, and fresh lemon juice.
Garten’s Greek Orzo Salad was the biggest recurring dish in 2023.
My whole family has been a huge fan of Garten’s Greek Orzo Salad, and we’ve all made it several times this year. My mother loved the recipe so much that she said, “Ena must have been Greek in one of her previous lives.”
The recipe highlights the best flavors of Mediterranean cuisine, with a slice of orzo drizzled with rich olive oil that absorbs salty feta cheese, briny olives and lemon juice. I’ve made dozens of dishes this year, but Garten’s Greek Orzo Salad was easily one of my favorites.

Garten’s outrageous cakes are rich and delicious.
Chocolate lovers will delight in this delicious Jarten cake filled with chocolate chip jam. This delicious cake couldn’t have been easier to make, and I loved the fudgy, crunchy texture of the walnuts.
These cookies satisfied my sugar cravings instantly and were a huge hit with my family and friends. I know I will be making these again and again in the new year.
