First image: Makawao artist Deb Lynch paints a painting of St. John’s Episcopal Church Friday afternoon on the first day of the Kula Church Holiday Market. She said that the painting will be displayed in the silent auction in the market. The event is open from 9am to 3pm on Saturday and offers artisans, baked goods, plants and produce, a gift shop and a quilt show. Lynch, a church member, said she was also helping in the kitchen. “I love the people who come here.” She said. “It’s warm, welcoming and inclusive, it’s just like family.”
