For those of you who bring lunch on the go, and find glass too fragile and plastic too soft, the Explorer Leakproof Lunch Box is made of food-grade stainless steel. Designed and manufactured by Seattle-based sustainable lunch box company PlanetBox.
The “leakproof” piece comes via a silicone seal.
While obviously not everything can fit into a nuke, the insert tray alone is safe to use in the microwave.
Because the container is largely made of steel, it is slightly heavier than glass, with an empty weight of 1.2 pounds. (It’s also a little more expensive, at $50).
