popcorn: It’s almost fall, and we’re hearing all about “pumpkin spice.” We’re considering cinnamon spice instead.

The Popcorn Board has many recipes for delicious snacks, including this recipe for Cinnamon Spice Berry Popcorn.

Ingredients: 6 cups popcorn, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 3 tablespoons light corn syrup, 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ginger, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/8 teaspoon cloves, 1 1/2 tablespoon – light vegetable ghee, 1/2 cup cressins

Directions: Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, spices, and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook over high heat for 2 1/2 minutes until hot. Add cressence to popcorn. Toss with hot sugar mixture until well coated. Cool the mixture before serving or store in an airtight container.

Ingredients: 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons maple syrup, 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin spice mix, 1 tablespoon butter or shortening, 1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional; 5 cups popcorn

Directions: In a large saucepan or pot, heat the brown sugar, maple syrup, and pumpkin pie spice mix over medium heat. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until the sugar dissolves and the mixture boils. Add the butter until it melts and mix well. Add pecans, if desired, and popcorn and stir until well coated. Leave the mixture to cool before serving. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
