Dried herbs: Dried herbs (along with parsley) can be used in place of fresh herbs, but the flavor will be more intense. Thanksgiving butter made from dried herbs is best used in roasting or applied under the skin of a chicken or turkey before roasting. Use 1/4 teaspoon dried sage, 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme, and 1/8 teaspoon dried rosemary instead of fresh herbs.

Use salted butter: Salted butter can be replaced with unsalted butter; Just omit the kosher salt.

storage: Thanksgiving buttercream can be refrigerated in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Let thaw overnight in the refrigerator before using.
