ONALASKA, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Festival Foods is celebrating Family Meals Month this September with a variety of programs, insights and recipe ideas to encourage families to enjoy meals together and help others achieve family meals, too.

This year’s campaign focuses on helping families across Wisconsin participate in family meals through Festival Foods’ Food for Neighbors program, which collects donations to provide food and supplies to about 40 food pantries in Wisconsin. Foods Mealtime Festival guides encourage contributions throughout the month and share stories of how guests, vendors and community partners are helping families across the state get food on the table. Additionally, Mealtime Mentors educate our community about the importance of family meals by sharing recipe ideas as well as shopping and cooking tips.

“We applaud the efforts families make to cook and enjoy meals together. Family meals nourish the spirit, mind, and health of the entire family, and they help us stay connected,” said Casey Wing, registered dietitian and digital content specialist at Festival Foods. We encourage families to continue these helpful habits and consider donating to programs that help others do the same.”

As part of their efforts, supporters of Festival Foods Family Meals Month are offering free Click N Go grocery pickup throughout the month to guests who donate to Food for Neighbors. Guests can also follow @festfoods on Instagram and Facebook for recipe ideas provided by Mealtime Mentors to help inspire family meals at home.

Participants can learn how to donate to the Neighborhood Food Association, view partner information and find recipes at festfoods.com/familymeals.
