You’ve got the perfect recipe for leftover Christmas dinner – my pie is easy to make and absolutely delicious

If you’re like us, you’re probably counting down the hours until you can finally eat your Christmas dinner.

But, if you end up with a lot of leftovers that you don’t know what to do with, listen up… because one food expert has revealed how you can use them to create a delicious golden pie.

In a clip posted to TikTok (@mealsbymitch), Mitch explains: “If you have a large amount of leftovers from your Christmas dinner, this is how to make a proper delicious leftover pie and it’s super easy to do.”

It starts by saying that you need to put the pan on medium heat.

“I’ve got a drop of oil“I added one shallot, three cloves of garlic, and a little rosemary and thyme.”

“Stir everything well and let it cook for a few minutes.

“Add a heaping tablespoon of flour, stir well and then add 500ml of chicken stock.”

The food expert recommends then letting it boil and simmer until it begins to thicken.

“Then I’ll add two tablespoons of crème fraîche,” he continues.

“Just stir it all up, add some salt and black pepper to your own taste, a teaspoon of English mustard and mix everything.”

It’s up to you what you add in the leftovers, Mitch continues, but he opts for bacon, Brussels sprouts, turkeyCarrots and some roasted potatoes.

After adding it to the pan, stir it again and that’s it – you’ve got your pie filling.

“I transfer everything to a pie plate, let it cool completely, and then top it with puff pastry,” he says.

“If you’re feeling fancy, you can make it look pretty.

“Crush a generous amount of egg on top with a pinch of salt and then put it in the oven for 20 minutes… now that’s a proper little dessert!”

Mitch captioned the post, “Another simple message for any leftovers you touched.”
